I’ve just given a client an incredible Indian Head Massage and it strikes me how often this seated treatment is overlooked in favour of a more traditional massage performed on a treatment couch. I suppose it is what we are used to, but here are some reasons why Indian Head Massage should not be overlooked or underestimated.
I don’t get much “me” time, I suffer from stress and headaches. Indian Head Massage with Fay is such a delight, like someone is soothing away my tension and I find it such a welcome release. Leonora Pou, Surrey
- Think about all the tension that you carry in your neck and shoulders…well that is exactly the area that Indian Head Massage concentrates on. Stimulating and soothing the muscles in this area can really help release tension and help unburden you of the load you are carrying.
- Release the tension from your arms, wrists and hands. Even if you are not involved in lifting and carrying objects for a living, just think about how you use your arms and hands every day. Ladies, how heavy is your handbag or purse, or gym bag? What about those shopping bags that you lug from the store? or the kids that you pick up? Don’t underestimate how great it feels to have your arms and hands rubbed down. We all favour one side of our bodies, so regular massage is needed to help keep us balanced.
- Shampoo please – Like a massage from the hairdresser, only without the shampoo and water. You know it suddenly become all the rage didn’t it, a mini head massage while you had your hair washed. Isn’t it lovely and it never seems to last quite long enough does it? Well, during an Indian Head Massage, you will get pressure points on your scalp stimulated, just like when you are having your hair shampooed. Only it lasts longer! Not for those who don’t want their hair ruffled though!
- Emotional release. Think about how many thoughts and feelings you keep close to your chest and how dense that can feel energetically. Indian Head Massage stimulates the body and helps to disperse and release stagnant or blocked energy to help you become loose and lighter. I’ve seen this massage do wonderful things for people suffering from grief, it opens clients up in a new way so that emotions can be released.
- Got something to say that you can’t quite get off your chest? The stimulating action of the upper body massage will help open and remove blocked energy from your throat energy centre (chakra). This may leave you feeling looser in the throat area and able to express yourself more easily.
- A gentle facial – The Indian Head Massage also covers pressure points on your face. This is gently stimulating, and great for your skin so you can leave the treatment glowing and looking radiant.
- Moisturise that dry skin and hair. The Indian Head Massage can be given as a dry massage while you are fully clothed or as a wet massage making use of moisturising massage oil. This is very beneficial for the skin and hair. I use 100% organic coconut and sesame oils. Essential oils can also be added to create an aromatherapy massage to increase the benefits.
- Release that eye strain! How much time do you spend in front of computers, screens, television etc. Ever suffer tension headaches? Well Indian Head Massage focuses on those key areas to help release tension and soothe away stress.
- Stimulate your brain and clear your mind. Indian Head Massage stimulates your blood circulation so more oxygen can get around your body, that includes increasing oxygen supply to your brain. It’s just what you need to clear your head, increase your mental alertness and help you get focused again.
- Improve the functioning of your lymphatic system. The stimulating effect of the massage helps to the lymphatic system to flow better, removing waste and toxins from your system more efficiently, increasing the effectiveness of your immune system.
- Relax and feel good. Did I forget this one? This massage will get into that calm, floaty, cosy feel-good place.
- Benefit from Reiki Energy at the same time. Since I am a Reiki Practitioner, Reiki Energy will flow through my hands while you are receiving the massage.
